What can you do as a parent to support your child during boards?

Board exams are one of the most stressful times in a student’s life. The pressure to perform well, combined with the fear of failure can take a toll on a student’s mental and physical well-being. As your child approaches their board exams, it can be a stressful and challenging time for both of you. As a parent, you can play a crucial role in supporting your child during their board exams. It is natural to want to support your child in their academic journey, particularly during the stress-inducing period of boards. It can be difficult to know exactly how to assist your child in this critical time, these tips can help:

1. Encourage a consistent study schedule –

It is crucial for parents to ensure that their child maintains a consistent study schedule. This is not only beneficial for the child’s academic performance but also for their overall well-being. This means helping them to set aside dedicated blocks of time each day for studying, rather than leaving it to the last minute. This saves them from last moment rush and stress during boards.

2. Provide a quiet and comfortable study space –

A comfortable and quiet study space is essential for the concentration and retention of information. A quiet study space is essential as it minimises distractions and allows students to concentrate fully on their studies.
