When should parents start talking to their teen about setting career goals?

1. The early signs: Middle school years:

While it may seem premature to discuss career aspirations during the middle school years, this period is crucial for laying the foundation. Around ages 11 to 14, teens develop a sense of identity and explore different interests. This is the perfect time to share the concept and tips on career goals engagingly.  

2. Encourage exploration:

Discussing the pros and cons of different options and their alignment with career goals will help in researching and understanding the process. For example, a teenager with a passion for writing and is interested in literature will contact the institutions that serve the same course to be a writer.   

10. Financial planning:

Teach your teen about the financial aspects of their career choices. Teaching teens about budgeting , potential student loans, college education costs, and discussion related to it will help them do the financial planning. 11. Developing soft skills:
