Our Institution is an integral part of the Delhi Public School Society and our association with education dates back to 1949, when the first foundation stone of a Delhi Public School was laid in Mathura Road, New Delhi, by Dr. Sarvapally Radhakrishnan, the, then, Vice President of India. Delhi Public School Society has been a non profit, non proprietary organization striving for excellence in education
The aim of Delhi Public School Society has always been magnanimous and this has been proved by the fact that schools have been set up in the remotest corners of the country, enabling the schools to impart the values to all willing learners nationwide.
This Global Network of over 200 English medium, Co-Educational, Secular Schools provides education from Pre-Nursery/ Nursery to Class 12. The DPS Family with its transcontinental identity is not merely a list of institutes, person or facts, it is a network of values, systems and relationships.
For more than six decades, the DPS Society has developed with a spirit and a vision. Today it stands as a citadel of learning and harbinger of quality consciousness, committed to developing the minds and initiatives of children.
From the beginning in the President’s Estate in 1941 as Church High School to Naveen Bharat School in 1947 and finally at its present location on Mathura Road, DPS has traversed a long journey. The birth of a new nation in 1947 was in a way the beginning of DPS, a momentous time in the history of our nation, when beginning was made to fulfill a social, national need. DPS Mathura Road was the only school till DPS RK Puram came into being in 1972. The schools that followed are simple assertions of the strength that is DPS.
Yet what has remained unchanged is the zest and spirit to achieve and to excel. Thus the DPS family is living testimony to one of the oldest institutions in India- the joint family system. On One hand beginning in 1949 it has in its fold, established stalwarts that continue to be forces to be reckoned with internationally. On the other hand, there are newer schools that have rich experience of their siblings and the benefit of latest developments. Together, they make some of the most formidable bastions of Education.
