Building skills and team spirit

Basketball
Basketball is not just a game at Delhi Public School Warangal. It’s a way to learn valuable life skills. Through teamwork, strategy, and communication, students gain hands-on experience that facilitates them understanding complex ideas in a simple and engaging way. Lessons on the court go beyond textbooks, really exposing students to real-life situations, while well-rounded people are being molded.
Basketball teaches students about diverse cultures and how they can live together through lifelong ties. Participating in team sports brings camaraderie and helps students look at different cultures in relation to their daily lives. Those memories live longer after the game than they do on a court.
This holistic approach equips students to be ready for life after school. Curiosity, independence, and resilience are encouraged through balancing academics, sports, and cultural activities.
In basketball, two teams of five players each compete to score by shooting the ball into the opposing team’s hoop. Players advance the ball by dribbling or passing, while the defending team tries to block shots, intercept passes, or steal the ball. The team with the most points at the end wins.
At DPS Warangal, basketball is not about winning games; it is about developing character, leadership, and skills that the students carry into the future.

Football
At DPS Warangal, football is an avenue for experiential learning that brings abstract academic concepts to life. Football teaches students how to apply concepts in real life through teamwork, strategy, and performance. This makes abstract academic ideas more tangible and interesting. Football develops important skills such as communication, leadership, and problem-solving, both in academics and in life.
Playing football instills long-term friendships and encourages students to learn other cultures as they share memories with one another. Football teaches students to be perseverant, self-reliant, and curious, enabling them to remain resilient and optimistic in the face of challenges. This is our commitment to academic, sports, and cultural balance.
Football is a very simple game in which two teams of up to 11 players try to get the ball into the opponent’s net. It can be played in different formats to suit the level of play of the participants, from beginners to more advanced players. The Pokémon Futsal Festival and Project B1 (Blind Football) allow all students, regardless of their ability, to participate and excel.
DPS Warangal makes football more than just a competition. It teaches the child the essence of growth as an individual, teamwork, and cultural understanding for success in every field of life.

At DPS Warangal, the sports facility allows students to connect with friends, teammates, classmates, and even teachers. This supportive atmosphere goes beyond academics, helping students grow through sports like volleyball.
Volleyball helps improve both physical and mental well-being, allowing students to be energetic and focused throughout the day. We make sure that cleanliness and safety are maintained so that students can play in a healthy and secure environment.
Volleyball at DPS Warangal is all about teamwork and communication. One team starts a rally by serving the ball, and the opposing team has three “touches” to return it. If a player touches the ball twice in a row, the other team wins the point. A match is played as best out of five sets, whereby the first one reaching 25 wins the respective set, considering two points leading the opponent, however, on fifth set played out to 15.
